Harry D. Thomas |
Former member, NRA Board of Directors, served on Law Enforcement Assistance Committee and Jeanne E. Bray Memorial Scholarship Committee. Retired from Cincinnati Police Division after over 22 years of service. Longtime spokesman for NRA on law enforcement issues. Life member, past member Board of Directors Ohio Gun Collectors Association. Was Charter Vice President of Law Enforcement Alliance of America, nation's first strictly pro-gun law enforcement organization. Member Firearms Facts Committee, Southwestern Ohio Sportsmen's Alliance, Miami Rifle & Pistol Club. Lt. Thomas' greatest contributions to NRA were his willingness to counter the propaganda claiming that rank-and-file law enforcement is anti-gun, and his efforts to thwart anti-gun law enforcement executives. Caused public exposure forcing Cincinnati Police Chief to discontinue politically motivated unconstitutional practice of seizing firearms from citizens who had not been charged with a crime. Was endorsed by the Ohio Rifle & Pistol Association. Mr. Thomas served on the NRA Board of Directors until 2002, but did not run for re-election. |
